Tommy Moore, age 55, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at his home in Louisburg, Kansas, surrounded by his wife and children after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born on May 4, 1971, in Shawnee, Kansas, Tommy lived a life marked by dedication, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.
Tommy was a proud graduate of Blue Valley High School, class of 1989, where he left a lasting impact in athletics. He earned a place in the Blue Valley Athletic Hall of Fame for football, a testament to his talent and determination. Following high school, he earned his associate’s degree while playing football at Butler Community College.
After college, Tommy worked for his Dad’s plumbing company before starting his own business, Moore Dairy Cattle, in 1993. As owner and operator, Tommy sold dairy heifers throughout the United States and across the world. His career was defined by his entrepreneurial spirit and hard-working nature. Those in the business described Tommy as a dependable man of integrity. Known for handshake deals and steadfast follow-through, Tommy worked tirelessly for many years to provide for his family.
Described by his family as their rock, Tommy’s caring, “life of the party” personality resonated deeply with all who encountered him. His tender heart and legendary toughness endeared him to countless friends and relatives. He was the trusted go-to person for many and was renowned for his generosity, often buying rounds of drinks while arm wrestling or enjoying a Coors Light with friends.
In his youth, Tommy enjoyed coon hunting and fishing and was well known for driving a little too fast in his iconic blue Iroc Z. As an adult, his passions extended into supporting youth and local athletics, especially the Louisburg Wildcats, K-State Football, and KU Track. He took great pride in supporting his children’s activities, but was the first to celebrate their teammates’ successes. Throughout his life, Tommy remained deeply connected to the land and livestock, always attentive to the price of crops and the welfare of farmers.
Tommy met his beloved wife, Alison Knox, in 1991. After seven years of dating, they married on February 6, 1999. Their partnership spanned 35 years, bound by love, laughter and mutual respect. Together, they raised four children—Austin, Alyse, Ashton, and Adelyn—who were Tommy’s proudest accomplishment and the greatest joy in his life.
Tommy’s immediate surviving family includes his wife, Alison Moore; their children Austin Moore, Alyse Moore, Ashton Moore, and Adelyn Moore; his brother Rick Moore; and his sisters, Sue Duncan and Annie (Tony) Catalano. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved and admired him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick” Moore and Mary “Marge” Moore; his brother-in-law Dennis Duncan; niece Kaylee Duncan; uncle Cecil Heath; and aunt Wilma Heath.
Tommy's legacy is one of unwavering commitment to family, friends, and community. His hard work, integrity, and big heart will be remembered by all who knew him as a true gentleman and a cherished friend. He was, and always will be, the rock of his family and a man of his word.
May his memory live on in the hearts of those he touched.
