Tom Morrisey, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Louisburg, Kansas, on August 20, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 10, 1942, in Wellington, Kansas, Tom led a life filled with warmth, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
A man of many talents, Tom was not only a successful businessman but also an avid writer. He published a book titled "16 Degrees Below," showcasing his creativity and love for storytelling. Those who knew him cherished his quick wit and outstanding sense of humor, which remained intact until the very end.
Tom's education began at Rockhurst College, where he was active in athletics, playing both basketball and football. He later graduated from the University of Kansas. His dedication to personal growth and development set a positive example for all around him.
In August 1964, Tom married his loving wife, Sharon Richmond, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Louisburg, Kansas, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with shared adventures. After their marriage, they moved to Denver and later settled in Altadena, California, in 1966, where they raised their three children: Stacy, Casey, and Browder. After retiring, Tom and Sharon returned to the family farm in Louisburg, where they continued to nurture their family's legacy.
Tom began his career in real estate, working for a large corporation before founding Morrisey and Company Real Estate in 1989, in Altadena, where he proudly served as owner and operator. His passion for his work was evident, and he made lasting contributions to the field, fostering connections with clients and colleagues alike.
Tom had a vibrant social life, and was a member of various organizations, including St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Altadena, California, the Rotary Club, and the Pasadena Board of Realtors. He was also a member of the Altadena Town and Country Club and engaged in the Adoration group at Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea. He found joy in these communities, creating meaningful connections and friendships that enriched his life.
His love for nature shone through in his leisure time, particularly during family hikes in Eaton Canyon. Additionally, Tom and Sharon cherished their yearly trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they made lasting memories with family and friends while enjoying their time share.
Tom will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sharon; his daughter, Stacy Morrisey; his sons, Casey (Vivi) Morrisey and Browder (Antionette) Morrisey; and his nine grandchildren, who were a source of endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Teresa Jaminson, and his brother, Mark (Cyndi) Morrisey.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mada Lou Morrisey; his sister, Nancy (Jack) Henning; and his brother-in-law, Rick Jaminson.
The legacy of Tom will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a world he enriched with love, humor, and his indomitable spirit. His contributions to family, friends, and community remain a testament to a life well-lived.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am with a mass to follow beginning at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Louisburg. 606 S. Elm St. Louisburg, KS 66053.
