Timothy A. Chanay

Tim Chanay, age 69, passed away on September 12, 2025, after a short illness, surrounded by loved ones. Though his time with us ended sooner than we wished, Tim filled every day with love and laughter

Born on November 25th, 1955 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Delbert W. and Alta L. (Nichols) Chanay.

Tim leaves behind his wife Karen (Samyn) Chanay; daughter Amanda Edwards (Nathan) of Orlando, Florida; granddaughters Aubrey and Eliza; son Matthew Chanay (Jordan) of Basehor, Kansas; grandson Case Chanay; sister Sheila (Chanay) Majors (Mike) of Paola, Kansas; brother Douglas Chanay (Judy) of Fredricksburg, Texas; and sister Teresa (Chanay) Kennington (Dan) of Ottawa, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by parents and brother Dwight Chanay.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on September 22, 2025 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S Hickory St, Ottawa, Kansas at 10:00 AM followed by a visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Vinland Cemetery, 1748 East 1750 Rd, Baldwin City, Kansas following the visitation.
