Teresa Ann Jackson

Teresa A. Jackson, 76, of Paola, KS passed away Sunday June 15, 2025, at the Olathe Hospice House after a brief battle with tongue cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Teresa was born August 13, 1948, in Kansas City, MO to Lawrence and Ruth Pirner. Teresa graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, KS. On October 12th, 1968, Teresa married Robert Jackson and together they raised 3 children, Lisa, Chris and Bobby. The family moved all over throughout the years with Teresa spending the last 10 years of her life living in Paola, KS.

Teresa worked many jobs in her lifetime, but the job she enjoyed the most was when she worked at veterinary clinics with animals. Teresa was an avid animal lover who never hesitated to take in an abandoned animal, whether it was a cat, dog, bird, ferret or salamander. Animals were always in the home and considered family members.

Teresa loved reading books and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She wore red and white every Sunday while cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs during football season as well as visiting the Louisburg Cider mill to buy some of her beloved peanut butter fudge. But her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family, laughing with her children, catching up with her grandchildren and holding her great grandchildren on her lap. Teresa had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. This is a trait she passed down to her children and made them promise to keep doing after she was gone.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Jackson.

She is survived by her children; Lisa (Brad) Harder of Emporia, KS, Bob Jackson of Belton, MO, and Chris Jackson (Marcella) of Osawatomie, KS; a brother, Dan (Cathy) Pirner of Arvada, CO, and a sister, Debra (Doug) McCarley of Wichita; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
