Sandra Mae White-Van Horn, a deeply spiritual woman devoted to her faith and family, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas. Born Sandra Mae Christensen on May 20, 1935, in Racine, Wisconsin, she was the cherished daughter of Einer and Edna Ida Pauline (Tromp) Christensen.

Sandra’s early years in Racine laid the foundation for a life enriched by faith, family, and community. An alumna of Three Hills High School in Alberta, Canada, she pursued her passions with determination and grace. For eleven years, Sandra was a self-employed baker, delighting many with her creations until her retirement in July of 2023. Beyond her professional endeavors, she found joy and solace in her hobbies, which included embroidery, music, gardening, crafting, and shopping—activities that reflected her creative spirit and attentive nature.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. Sandra was known for her unwavering devotion and spiritual warmth, consistently expressing her heartfelt prayer that everyone would come to know the Lord as their Savior. This profound love for her faith was mirrored in her love for her family, whom she held dear throughout her lifetime.

On November 19, 1960, she united in marriage to her beloved Arthur Wayne White with whom she shared almost 50 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2010, On June 28, 2013, she married Dale Burton Van Horn until his passing in 2023.

Survived by her daughters Debora Holstine (Danny) and Rochelle Chase (Tim), Sandra's legacy continues through her three grandchildren Daniel, Derik, and Colt; and her ten great-grandchildren Alayna, Remington, Ellie, Kaylee, Preston, Carter, Carson, Caleb, Charlie, and Greyson. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her niece Sandra Mercer; nephew Walter Cronk; as well as other beloved nieces and nephews. The family also remembers fondly her devoted dog, Rosie, who was a cherished companion.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother Richard Christensen; and her sisters Sharon Cronk and Karen Gaddes.

Throughout her remarkable life, Sandra exemplified steadfast faith, boundless love, and a spirited dedication to those around her. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew her, guided by the warmth of her prayers, the kindness she extended, and the joyful spirit she carried faithfully. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Cremation is planned with no services scheduled at this time.
