Sandra Ann "Sandy" Fennel, born on July 17, 1936, in Taylorsville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in Spring Hill, Kansas. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love, having touched the lives of many through her kindness and vibrant spirit.
Sandy was well-loved and cherished, known for her friendly demeanor and ability to forge lasting friendships within her community. Her grandchildren fondly recall delightful outings to Sonic for chocolate shakes and the joy of sharing laughter while watching sitcoms together. Sandy's passion for reading, particularly the works of John Grisham, was a defining aspect of her character, showcasing her love for storytelling and connection to literature.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Molloy, and grandchildren: Sabrina Fennel, Shelby Allen-Alters, Brian David McQuay, Samantha Duncan, Cindy Ballou, Nickie Fennel-Brewer, Travis Fennel, Matt Fennel, Dylan Guinn, and Steven Guinn, as well as many great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory forward.
Sandy is preceded in death by her son, Vernon Fennel, Jr., her daughter, Susan Fennel, her granddaughter, Gracie Lee Fennel, her daughter, Melody Fennel, and her son, Mark Fennel. She was also preceded by her beloved parents, Merle and Lucy (Rigg) Collingwood.
Sandra Ann "Sandy" Fennel will be remembered not only as a devoted family member but also as a beloved friend who created memories that will last for generations. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of calling her family and friend.
