Rena F. Smith, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her home.
During her 51 years on this earth, she laughed, loved, cared and helped many. She worked in nursing homes, group homes and a few restaurants in the area.
In her down time, she liked to read a variety of books, and was very talented at drawing wonderful pictures. Rena’s passions enjoyed cooking, bowling and fishing just to name a few. She could be found every Friday night hanging out with Bonnie Archer, Mandy Kelley and Dara Kelley playing bingo. Her face would light up and she would be filled with joy each time she yelled out Bingo!
Family meant a lot to Rena. She was so very proud of her three beautiful daughters, Adrianna Smith, Shayla Smith and Chassady (Garrett) Redden. Rena was always filled with joy and would glow when she spoke about her seven grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She would often recall stories about her younger brother, Richard Hayes. One story in particular she loved to share was when she was kid, she put her younger brother, in the dryer and even turned it on. “Yes, I got in trouble, but it was worth it!”
Now she joins her mother, Melva Millard, several aunts, uncles, and good friends watching over us all. Rena is always with us in our memories and our hearts.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Dengel & Son Mortuary – Paola Chapel, 305 N Pearl Street, Paola, KS 66071.
