Raymond Stanley Grybos, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 89 in Lenexa, Kansas. Born on November 5, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, Raymond grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Lane Tech High School. His roots in Illinois were deep, and after spending several decades there, he moved to Louisburg, Kansas, to be closer to family, where he lived for the past 21 years.
A dedicated professional, Raymond was known for his meticulous work as a wallpaper hanger and painter. His perfectionist nature shone through in every project he undertook, reflecting his passion for craftsmanship. In addition to his professional pursuits, he was also a talented woodworker, who enjoyed creating various projects around the home that showcased his skill and creativity.
Raymond served honorably in the Army for two years, stationed in Italy, a time that not only underscored his commitment to service but also provided him with experiences that would shape his character and values.
On July 25, 1959, Raymond married his loving wife, Darlene Arteese. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and love, creating a nurturing environment for their family. He was especially proud of his daughter, Dawn, and cherished the time spent with his grandsons, Richard and Alex, who brought him endless joy.
Raymond will be remembered for his loving spirit, strong work ethic, and the importance he placed on family. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Grybos; daughter, Dawn (Tim) Stahl; grandsons, Richard and Alex Stahl, and great granddaughter, Rileigh Stahl. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Pearl Grybos.
As we honor the memory of Raymond, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by dedication to family, community, and craftsmanship. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
