Randy Wayne Hufford was born November 15, 1960 in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Artie and Betty Hufford. A lifelong resident, Randy made his home in the Michigan Valley area until his death on Monday, July 20, 2026 at the age of 65.
Randy attended Appanoose Grade School and graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1978. He was united in marriage to Debbie Pasley on December 30, 1995 at his home in Michigan Valley. She survives of the home after 30 years of marriage. Other survivors include his mother, Betty Hufford of Pomona, Kansas; Daughter Annie Hufford, of Gladstone, Missouri; son Daniel Hufford (Rae), of Lyndon, Kansas; grandchildren: Serena Hufford (Luke), of Topeka, Kansas, Donovan Brown, of Virginia, Addyson Hufford, Sophia Hufford, and Coleton Hufford, of Lyndon, Kansas; great-granddaughter Charlotte; step-children Tommy Lister, of Portland, Oregon and Rachel Lister (Jake), of Shawnee, Kansas; step-granddaughter Wrenley; sisters Teresa Hawkins (Joe), of Pomona, Kansas and Marilyn Stevenson (Brad), of Ottawa, Kansas. Randy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents Earl and Eythe Hufford, his father Artie Hufford, and daughter Erica Lynn.
After high school, Randy went to work as an Ironworker in Moberly, Missouri. Later he worked at Royal Tractor in Gardner, Kansas, HME and TFI as a welder, and 30 years at Custom Mobile Equipment in Baldwin, until his death. Randy was a hard worker. He loved putting up hay and tending to his cattle.
Randy was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, and brother. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids, both attending ball games and dance performances. He enjoyed watching westerns and ball games on television.
Randy will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Visitation will be 5-7:00pm, Monday, July 27, 2026, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas. Service will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 10:00a.m. Burial after services at Dean Cemetery.
