Randall G. Foster, affectionately known to many as Randy, passed away on May 3, 2026, at his residence. Born on April 1, 1953, in Iola, Kansas, to Delmar and Marion Hess Foster.  Randy lived a life characterized by dedication to his work, a passion for music and sports, and a deep appreciation for the company of family and friends.

Randy's educational journey culminated with his graduation from Paola High School in the class of 1971. Following his graduation, he embarked on his career with the City of Paola, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to his community and professional endeavors. He later dedicated nearly two decades to Green Engineering, serving as a surveyor until his retirement due to disability. Not one to remain idle, Randy also worked part-time for ten years at the Liquor Store north of town, retiring after the business was sold.

Known for his easygoing nature, Randy was a man who truly valued fellowship. His warmth and companionship enriched the lives of those around him. He delighted in playing golf, taking strolls, and most notably, watching his grandchildren’s athletic pursuits with pride. Music was a significant part of his life; he was a cherished member of the Miami County Mountain Boys, a bluegrass ensemble where he showcased his talents on the mandolin.

Randy is survived by his devoted sons, Joshua Grant Foster (Jamie) and Lucas Alan Foster (Amanda). His legacy further lives on through his beloved grandchildren: Raina Marie Foster, Adalee Joann Foster, Trek Alan Foster, Trace Randall Foster, and Talon Burk Foster. He also leaves behind his sister, Vicki Robison and her family, and his brother, Rick Foster (Mary Pat), and their family, along with many friends who will fondly remember his kindness and camaraderie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar Fredrick and Marion A. Hess Foster, and brother in-law Donald Robison, whose memory of past loved ones, he carried with him throughout his life.

Randy’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. His contributions to his community, his musical legacy, and the love he shared with his family stand as a testament to a life well-lived.

A celebration  of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
