Pennie E. Westfall, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Williamsburg, Kansas, on March 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on September 15, 1943, in Kansas City, Kansas, she was the daughter of Charles and Frances (Kyzer) Springer, who preceded her in death.
Pennie graduated from high school and continued her education at Denver Business College for two years. Throughout her career, she held a variety of temporary positions, but she was especially proud of her six years of service with the State of Colorado. Her meticulous nature and strong work ethic were evident in every task she undertook, particularly in her role handling and counting funds with accuracy and care.
Pennie’s life was defined by her deep love for family and her generous spirit. She found joy in gardening, puzzles, and the simple pleasures of home. Known for her welcoming nature and her playful, ornery streak, she brought laughter and warmth wherever she went. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she embraced each of them with unwavering love, encouragement, and pride.
She is survived by her children—sons James Westfall, Robert Westfall, and Sonny Westfall; daughter Diane Howell; and grandson Christopher (Christina) Westfall. She also leaves behind her brother, Donald (Emma) Springer, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Pennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Foy Westfall; daughter, Lanaia Westfall; stepdaughter, Teresa Anderson; and brother, James Michael Springer.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 6, 2026, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kansas.
Pennie will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant and giving spirit, and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
