Paul L. Kettler, a devoted husband, father, poppo, and pillar of his community, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 5, 1940, to Burl and Hulda Kettler in rural Paola, Kansas, Paul grew up on the family farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for the outdoors. A proud graduate of Fontana High School, he continued his education at Kansas State University and Emporia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education. Paul taught high school shop for several years before transitioning to a successful career in the insurance industry with Forrest T. Jones Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2005.

Paul was a hands-on father who poured his heart into raising his four daughters. He coached softball, creating cherished memories on and off the field. He loved fishing, hunting and golfing. His civic spirit and dedication to his community shone brightly to all who knew him. A Spring Hill School Board member, Paul also belonged to the Spring Hill Jaycees and served on the Spring Hill Planning Commission. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge where he earned his 50-year pin.

A faithful member of Hillsdale Presbyterian Church alongside his beloved wife, Patsy, Paul lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl L. Kettler and Hulda Alpert Kettler.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia “Patsy” Kettler; his daughters, Deb Tolar (Mike) of Ajijic, Mexico, Deanea Boydston (Jeff) of Spring Hill, Kan., Denise Miller (Gregg) of Denver, Colo., and Kim Cox (Brad) of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jean Straube (Al) of Florissant, Mo.

Paul’s legacy of love, leadership, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December, 2, 2025, beginning at 11:30am at the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church in Hillsdale, KS.
