Patricia Ann Zamora

Patricia Ann Zamora, a beloved mother, sister, and wife, passed away peacefully at her home in Ottawa, Kansas, surrounded by her loving family on June 9, 2025. Born on July 21,1951, in Herington, Kansas, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Marvin and Esther (Richert) Funk.

Patricia's educational journey began at Hillsborough High School, where she graduated with the class of 1971. She later honed her skills in cosmetology, graduating from Hays Hair Dressing School in Mission, Kansas, in 1974. She shared her talents with many throughout her career, which included working at various salons. In 1993, Patricia and her husband, Carlos David Zamora, became co-owners of Moni's Marina and Mini Mart-Z Creek Liquor in Hasty, Colorado, a venture they continued until her retirement in 2001.

Patricia found joy in many facets of life. She was an active member of the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce and relished her time spent baking, going for walks, and indulging in her love for tanning. She enjoyed watching soap operas and playing games on her phone, but most of all, her heart was full when she was surrounded by her grandchildren and family at gatherings.

She was united in marriage to Carlos Zamora on September 9, 1978. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2024.

She is survived by her daughters, Monica Lawrence (Aaron) and April DeWolfe (David); son Farren Knapp (Rebecca); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Bruce Funk (Shirley), sister Ginger Krueger (Dave), sister Robin Johnson (Alan), sister Bonnie Bulmer, and brother Troy Funk.

Along with her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Roxanne Pence, and an infant brother.

Patricia will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering spirit, and the loving memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her passion for life, family, and community will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
