Norman E. Keenan, a dedicated farmer and cherished family member, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the Olathe Hospice House. Born on February 8, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, Norman grew up in Bucyrus, Kansas, where he cultivated a deep love for the land and farming that would define his life and legacy.
A proud graduate of Queen of the Holy Rosary High School, Norm embraced a life devoted to agriculture, spending countless hours tending to the family farm. He took immense pride in carrying on the family tradition, working diligently to grow and expand the operation throughout his lifetime. Farming was not merely a career for Norm; it was his passion. Rarely could one find him away from the farm, as he consistently found joy in nurturing the fields and animals that surrounded him. Norm’s parents raised him to understand that their word was their bond, this is another tradition that he carried through his life.
Norm will be remembered fondly for his unwavering commitment to his work and his family. He leaves behind a loving family, including his nephew, Chad Keenan; great nephew, Tanner Keenan; great niece, Shelby Keenan; and great-great niece, Karsen Dudzik. Additionally, he is survived by many extended family members and friends who cherished him dearly.
In all aspects of his life, Norm epitomized hard work, dedication, and family values. His legacy will endure through the many lives he touched and the generations that will benefit from the love and lessons he imparted. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Norm was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Evelyn Keenan, as well as his sister, Janice Keenan, and brother, Larry Keenan. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 am, Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Catholic Church, 22779 Metcalf Ave, Bucyrus, Kansas 66013. Visitation to follow from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am. Burial to follow mass at the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
