Nicholas A. Campbell

Nicholas A. Campbell, born on June 22, 1971, in Ottawa, Kansas, passed away on July 23, 2025, at The University of Kansas Health System-Olathe in Olathe, Kansas. He was a beloved member of his community, known for his passion for agriculture and his dedication to his family.

Nick took great pride in his work, as he loved to sell produce. His connection to the land and the joy he derived from his vocation were evident to all who knew him. He cultivated not only crops but also relationships, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for produce with friends and neighbors.

A proud alumnus of Ottawa High School Class of 1989, Nick embraced the values of hard work and teamwork instilled in him during his formative years. He was also an athlete; he played catcher throughout Babe Ruth Baseball and received a scholarship to play football as a guard for the Ft. Scott Community College Greyhounds. After receiving his Associate’s Degree in Ag Business in 1991, he continued his education at Kansas State University obtaining a B.S. of Animal Science in 1994.

After graduation he was employed at the KSU Beef Research Unit. He then became the Feed Mill Manager for Pro-Farmer Feeds in St. Mary’s, KS.

He then returned home and began working as a Meat Cutter at Country Mart in Ottawa, and eventually became the Meat Department Manager after Price Chopper purchased the store. Nick was very active at Franklin County Auctions.

Nick is survived by his parents, Allen and Christine "Chris" (Nichols) Campbell; his brother, Pat Campbell; his sister-in-law, Candie Campbell and nephew Aaron Campbell.

He also leaves behind a multitude of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins along with KSU/Flint Hills/Princeton family and friends.

He was preceded in death by Grandparents Kenneth and Lovina Campbell, Bill and Dorothy Nichols, Aunt Melissa Price, Uncle Steve Nichols, Uncle Joel Nichols, Cousin Megan Werner.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 10am Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Highland Cemetery, in Ottawa, Kansas.

Celebration of life to follow at the Princeton Community Building, Princeton, KS. Please feel free to stop by for food and fellowship and to share a “Nick Story”.

Nick will be fondly remembered for his kindness, his love of the land, and the legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.
