Nevil L. Gumm, 69, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at the Olathe Hospice House. He was born on October 6, 1955, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Virgil and Wanda (Welch) Gumm.

Nevil will be remembered for his gentle spirit and kind heart. He was dedicated to his family and friends, always cherishing the time he spent with them.

He worked as a press operator for ITW for 23 years, retiring in 2020. After retirement, Nevil worked part time at Napa Auto Parts to keep busy and in stay community with others. Outside of work, Nevil had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and spending time with his best friend Phil. He was a passionate supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and the KU Jayhawks. Whether attending games or watching with family and friends, cheering on his teams brought him great joy.

Nevil lived his life with faith, love, and joy, touching the lives of those around him with his kindness and warmth.

He is survived by his beloved siblings Peggy Cramer, Connie Stauffer (Gary), Virgil Gumm, Fred Gumm, Cindy Loder (Bill), and Tina Morton (Steve) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Wanda (Welch) Gumm, and his brothers Bryan and Kelly. His family and friends take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with them.

Following Nevil’s wishes, cremation is planned, and no services are scheduled at this time. His enduring legacy of love, laughter, and gentle strength will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
