Listen to Obituary

Michael Lloyd Perkins was born on July 8, 1958, to Richard and Margaret (La Page) Perkins in Plattsburg, New York. As a young child, Mike moved with his family to the Kansas City metro area. Mike loved being the oldest brother to his siblings and the Perkins kids’ antics were some of his favorite stories to tell. Mike graduated in 1976, from Ruskin high school.

Mike was a true jack of all trades. From his jobs as a diesel mechanic, working for the railroad, roofing, owning his own construction business, driving a semi-truck, and maintenance, if he didn’t know how to fix it, he was going to learn how. This included home projects, classic motorcycles and anything in-between.

In 2003, Mike bought an old Victorian house in Paola. It was there he met his neighbor Anna. The relationship was built on remodeling projects, Home Depot trips, and motorcycle rides. They were married in 2007 and welcomed a son in 2009. The family moved to a small farm outside of Osawatomie in 2018. Mike loved having friends over, listening to classic rock and telling stories. Mike was a man who did not take friendships lightly and those he was closest to, he called brother.

Mike is survived by his wife, Anna and son, Joseph of the home. His sister, Darcy Dinneny, in-law’s, David and Christy Levings, Damian and April Levings, nieces and nephews and more friends than one could count.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Perkins, Margaret and David Perkins Mayville, and brothers, Steve and Ric Perkins.

A memorial in celebration of Mike will be March 29th, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Paola, KS with a reception following.
