Maxine Lichtenberger, 91, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 10, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Lichtenberger at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday and prior to services on Monday. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Maxine was born on Monday, October 31, 1921, in Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Ruby (Lyons) Brown. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1939. On March 1, 1943 Maxine was united in marriage to Ray Lichtenberger in Taft, California. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2005. Maxine worked as a head bookkeeper for Peoples National Bank for thirty-three years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include many nieces and nephews; sister, Bonnie Harsh and husband Dean of St. Joseph, Missouri; and brother-in-law, John Harper of Palm Springs, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; parents; brother, Roy H. Brown; and five sisters, Velma McCrary, Vivian Harder, Berniece Evans, Irene Warner and Patsy Harper.
