Marjorie Mae Reeves

Marjorie Mae Reeves, passed away on September 20, 2026, at Rock Creek of Ottawa in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on May 6, 1931, in Princeton, Kansas, the daughter of Grant and Margaret (Huddleston) Carey.

Marjorie graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, Kansas. She went on to work as an assembler for King Radio until her retirement. On April 27, 1952, she married Acie Reeves, and they shared a long life together until his passing on December 22, 2023.

She found joy in traveling by bus to different areas of the country and took special pleasure in gardening, farming, and canning. Marjorie was an excellent cook and loved making meals for others. Above all, she especially loved her family, who remained at the heart of her life.

She is survived by her sons, David Reeves (Gayle), of Williamsburg, Kansas, and Eugene Reeves of Raymore, Missouri. She also leaves her sisters, Wilma Atchison (Ron) of Princeton, Kansas, and Virginia Lancaster of Ottawa, Kansas; and her brother, Robert Carey of Princeton, Kansas. Marjorie’s memory will also be cherished by her grandsons, Jeremy Reeves of Raymore, Missouri, Ryan McFarland (Amber) of Emporia, Kansas, and Daryl McFarland (Sara) of Assaria, Kansas. along with four great grandchildren. May her family find comfort in the many meals she prepared, the care she gave, and the love she shared so generously.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Lisa Reeves; brother, Ray Carey; and sister, Velma Louderback.

Visitation will be held on September 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Dengel & Son Mortuary - Crematory, 235 South Hickory Street, Ottawa, Kansas. The funeral service will follow there from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place afterward from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Princeton Cemetery, 1490 US-59, Princeton, Kansas.
