Lola B. Mathis

Lola Beatrice Mathis, age 86, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Evergreen of Johnson County, Olathe, Kansas. Lola was born February 18, 1932 in Miami County to Ruben and Emma (Woehl) Swearingen. Visitation is 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St. Paola, KS. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery. Lola was united in marriage to Sanford Fay Mathis on October 2, 1949. They liked to go camping and fishing and enjoyed going to garage sales and auctions. Lola was active in the Paola Senior Center. She loved her cats and raising Shelties. Survivors include brother, Carl LeRoy Swearingen of Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Clara Louise DeVore; and brother, Merle Swearingen.
