Linda Dianne Warren

Linda Dianne Warren passed away peacefully at her home in Paola, Kansas, on July 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 18, 1946, in Brinkley, Arkansas, to J.C. and Ruth Bates. Linda’s journey through life was filled with love, resilience, and a deep commitment to her family.

Linda spent the majority of her childhood and early adulthood in Hunter, Arkansas. She attended Wheatley High School in Wheatley, Arkansas, and graduated in 1966. Her formative years were marked by a strong sense of family and community—values that would guide her throughout her life.

On November 14, 1964, Linda married Richard Warren Jr., with whom she shared a loving partnership. Tragically, Richard passed away on May 23, 1978, leaving Linda to raise their children as a single mother. In the face of adversity, she unwaveringly put her children and family first, embodying an extraordinary work ethic and a spirit of determination. She was proud to raise three successful children, always striving to give them the best opportunities in life. As the heart and core of her family, Linda’s influence extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imparting to them the same strength and determination she exemplified.

Linda’s commitment to her family was matched by her dedication to her work. Later in life, she enjoyed a rewarding career with American Greetings, where she worked for eight years before retiring. Her colleagues and friends remember her for her kindness, respect, and the hard work she showed every day.

Linda was a woman of remarkable talents and interests. A gifted painter, she filled her home with a cherished collection of her own art—an at-home gallery that became a source of pride and inspiration for her family. She delighted in sharing her passion, providing painting supplies for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nurturing artistic gifts that will live on for generations. Her love for nature was evident in the beautiful flower beds she tended and the fresh arrangements she created from her garden. She took immense satisfaction in raising her own food, showing her family the value of care and patience.

Linda’s dedication to creating memories with her loved ones was unwavering. She loved to travel and see the world with her family. A cherished highlight was a girl’s trip to Hawaii, where she enjoyed the sweetness of fresh pineapple and the joy of family togetherness.

Her later years brought her to Spring Hill, Kansas, in 2015, and ultimately to Paola in 2022. Even during her illness, her warmth touched all who knew her. Her doctors and even their children would visit not only to provide care but to enjoy her company and conversation. Linda made an impact on everyone she met, and those moments will be treasured by all.

Those who knew Linda describe her as simple yet strong, always ensuring her family was supported and cared for. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and compassion that will be remembered with affection and respect.

She is survived by her longtime partner, Craig Frazier, children, Rick (Alena) Warren III, Danita Warren, and Jaime Warren; grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) Moodie, Jace (Amy) Warren, Chase Willhite, and Cameron Warren; great-grandchildren, Kristian Moodie, Payton Moodie, Elliott Warren, Henry Willhite, and Clara Warren; her sisters, Brenda (Charles) Grigsby and Glenda MacIntosh.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Warren Jr.; her father, J.C. Bates; and her mother, Ruth Bates.

Linda’s memory will be forever held in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives have been immeasurably enriched by her presence.

Private family services will be held.
