Larry Joseph Kanatzar

Larry Joseph Kanatzar, Sr. a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Pomona, Kansas, on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Born on May 23, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas, Larry was the son of John Edward and Mary Jo (Isabelle) Kanatzar. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.

Larry dedicated thirty years of his life to General Motors, where he served as a Team Leader before retiring on February 1, 2006. His commitment to his work exemplified his strong work ethic and passion for excellence.

On February 14, 1993, Larry united in marriage to Roberta Bobo in Branson, Missouri, sharing a life filled with love and companionship. Together, they raised a family that includes their son, Larry Joseph Kanatzar, Jr., and daughter, Sheena Marie Farley. Larry’s legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Blake Joseph Kanatzar; and his brother, John Edward Kanatzar, Jr.

An active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa, Kansas, Larry took great pride in his faith and community involvement. He inspired those around him through his gentle spirit and unwavering support for others.

A Mass in celebration of Larry’s life will be held on October 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 426 South Cedar Street, Ottawa, Kansas, 66067. Family and friends are invited to gather and remember the life of a remarkable man who touched the lives of so many.

Larry will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and contributions to his community, leaving behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of those he cherished.
