Kelly Lee Jones

Kelly Lee Jones, aged 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Ottawa, Kansas, on July 24, 2026. Born on the same date in 1954, also in Ottawa, he was the beloved son of H. Arlon Jones and T. Virginia Jones.

A graduate of Pomona High School in 1972, Kelly furthered his education as a computer programmer in Kansas City, Kansas. Despite his proficiency in technology, his heart drew him back to the outdoors and the family dairy farm. He worked alongside his father until 1978 before joining Ned Hiatt Country Sales at Lake Pomona. In 1983, Kelly began a career at Wolf Creek Power Plant, where he remained until his retirement.

Kelly shared a life with Betty Fabert, whom he married on August 10, 1973. Together, they raised two daughters before divorcing in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents H. Arlon and T. Virginia Jones.

 He is survived by his daughters Kendra Lee Sparks and Kari Ann Garon (Tom), and three cherished grandchildren: Kelly-Ray Sparks, Jacob Garon, and Lucas Garon.

Memorial visitation to be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas.
