Karen Kay Brazeal, 70, of Pomona, Kansas passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Ottawa Retirement Village.Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 19, 2014. Karen was born on August 20, 1943 in Argentine, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Edith (West) Wilcox.She has lived in Pomona for the past two years, moving from Williamsburg, where she resided for twenty-three years. She also resided in Linwood, Paola, and De Soto, Kansas and Midland, Texas.She attended Argentine Grade School in Argentine, Kansas through the 8th grade.On May 7, 1962 Karen was united in marriage with Charles Brazeal in Argentine, Kansas. He survives of their home. Other survivors include her three children, Crystal Booth and husband Darren, of Mission, Kansas, Charles Brazeal Jr. and wife Kim, of Lenexa, Kansas and Jeffrey Brazeal of Burlington, Kansas; three siblings, Dale Wilcox and wife Doty, of Kansas City, Missouri, Darla Ottons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Denny Chapman and husband Albert, of Edgerton, Kansas; three grandchildren, Diana Matlock, Stephen Booth and Joshua Brazeal; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Albert Allen Wilcox and Robert Wilcox; and three grandchildren, Cynthia, William and David Reedy.Karen was a near lifelong homemaker who loved being at home caring for the needs of her family.She enjoyed horseback riding, trial riding and working cattle on the farm. She also enjoyed watching soap operas and gambling at the casinos.She will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of her family and friends forever.
