Jerry M. Mills, a devoted family man, skilled craftsman, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at The University of Kansas Health System-Olathe in Olathe, Kansas. Born on March 17, 1947, in Kansas City, Kansas, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a genuine spirit of generosity.

Jerry was the beloved son of Russell E. and Mildred B. (Saunders) Mills. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Vicki L. Roberts, on July 22, 1966, in Roeland Park, Kansas. His commitment to family was unwavering, and he took great joy in the company of his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.

After receiving his high school diploma, Jerry pursued a career fueled by both passion and skill. He owned and operated his own business, “The Auto Shop,” for many years, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to quality. Prior to retiring in 2011, he also contributed his talents at Bienie's Body Shop. His love for automobiles extended beyond his profession; he took pride in showing his car at various car shows, delighting in sharing his enthusiasm with others.

Jerry was known far and wide for his warm personality and storytelling prowess. Those who knew him treasured his tales of youth and the adventurous exploits he shared with his siblings. He was a man who never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need, epitomizing a spirit of kindness and community.

His interests were many and reflected a life lived fully. Jerry enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and camping—activities that allowed him to savor nature and create lasting memories with family. Deeply rooted in faith, he loved Jesus and was a past Elder as well as a current member of the financial board at the Community Revival Center Church, where he devoted significant time and effort.

Jerry is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife; son Dean K. Mills (Gayla); grandchildren Joshua D. Mills (Asa), Jaina L. Schooley (Josh), and Cordell J. Gardenhire; great-granddaughter Willa R. Schooley; brother Robert A. Mills (Lynn); sisters-in-law Linda M. Mills and Karen G. Roberts; and mother-in-law Willa R. Roberts.
