Jean Kathryn Anderson, 100, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
A private family inurnment will be held later at Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Ohio.
Jean was born August 14, 1922, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of August and Emma Frances (Inderrieden) Schaferling. She lived her entire life in Piqua, Ohio and graduated from Piqua High School with the class of 1940 and on her own learned skills for secretarial work. She met and married Cletus Huter in Piqua and they were blessed with two daughters, Jane and Anne. They later divorced. And he preceded her in death on October 27, 2002.
She later married Joseph Anderson and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1996.
For 30 years, Jean was employed as a legal secretary with Orr Felt & Blanket Company.
She attended St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church both of Piqua.
Jean loved her family and grandchildren, being outdoors enjoying nature, yard work, flowers, wildlife, and her pets.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Anne Baker; two brothers and three sisters; and a lifelong friend and companion for 18 years Joseph Caserta.
Survivors include a daughter Jane Ramshaw and husband Bob of Pomona, Kansas; grandchildren, Amy Guzan of Gardner, Kansas, John Baker and wife Tasha of Spring Hill, Kansas, and Jennifer Baker of Overland Park, Kansas; great grandchildren, Jack Guzan, Emma Guzan, Alex, Luke, and Eric Baker.
