Janice Wilber, who brought warmth, kindness, and a remarkable spirit to those around her, died on July 20, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on February 15, 1944, Janice lived a life marked by curiosity, grace, and deep appreciation for the world around her. She traveled widely and embraced the richness of different places and cultures, even speaking seven languages. Those experiences reflected her lively mind and her openness to people from all walks of life.
Janice was remembered as one of the sweetest and most exceptional people on earth. She loved children and cats, and she was drawn to anything happy, carrying that spirit with her throughout her life. After many years of travel, she settled in Ottawa to be near her dear friend Shirley, a choice that reflected the value she placed on close and meaningful companionship.
Even as she faced several debilitating health issues, Janice never complained. Her quiet strength and gentle resilience were part of what made her so deeply admired. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and reading romance novels, simple pleasures that brought her comfort and joy.
Janice raised and cared for her sister's growing up. She loved her family deeply
Janice is survived by her sister, Patricia Bullock. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her, and may the example of her kindness, courage, and joyful spirit continue to be cherished.
