Harvey Lee Brocker

Harvey Lee Brocker, aged 80, left this world on August 31, 2026, embraced by the town of Paola, Kansas, where his life began. Born and nurtured in the heart of Paola, Harvey dedicated 44 years to Taylor Forge as a skilled crane operator, a testament to his steadfast commitment and industrious spirit.

He was the cherished son of the late Roy and Hazel Brocker. His familial bonds were enriched by his brother, Darrel and wife Elaine of Paola, Kansas, his sister, Linda with husband Cecil Hayes of Shawnee, Kansas, and his sister, Janet, that preceded him in death. In a union lasting over half a century, Harvey married Carol (Gregory) Brocker on September 18, 1971, embarking on a journey that blessed them with two daughters: Roxanne of Lawrence, Kansas, and Stacy, alongside husband Enrique Colon, of Overland Park.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Stephany and husband Craig Kilbourn of Mason City, Iowa; Andrea and husband Greg Morrow of Ottawa, Kansas; Jacob Weers of Lawrence, Kansas; Sadie Bivins of Eudora, Kansas; and the late Sam Bivins of Paola, Kansas. The joy of 12 great-grandchildren further enriched his days.

Harvey found solace and delight in simple pleasures—whether fishing under the Kansas sky, embracing the thrill of scrapping, or embarking on leisurely country drives. He treasured moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and relished the gentle rhythm of life as he watched from his porch, observing the world pass by. You could often find Harvey sitting in front of his garage, watching the traffic pass by. 

In each of these memories, a part of Harvey lives on, forever cherished by those who loved him.
