Gary D. Lasher

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Lasher, who departed this life on June 15th 2025, at the age of 81 surrounded by loved ones. 

Gary was born on March 30,1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lloyd and Charldean Lasher. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was known for his work ethic and love of motorcycles. Gary graduated from Grain Valley High School in Grain Valley, Missouri in 1962. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his classmates over the years. He spent his early years as a business owner, Suburban Imports in Blue Springs, Missouri, Lasher's True Value in Paola, Kansas and later in life he and his wife established Silver Rentals and remodeled houses in the Miami County area. Gary touched many lives participating in honoring fallen soldiers as a member of the Kansas Patriot Guard and volunteering for the Miami County Cancer Foundation and made a difference in the lives of children in Miami County with Cops for Tots. 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn, his children, Troy Lasher of Osawatomie, Robin Townsend (Scott) of Holdrege, Nebraska, Debbie Hayes (David), David Lasher (Kim) of Paola, 10 grandkids and 13 great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents and his little brother, Lane. 

All who knew and loved Gary are welcome to attend his services and share in remembering his life. The Visitation will be on Friday, June 20th from 10:00-11:00am with a service to follow beginning at 11:00 at Dengel and Son in Paola, Kansas. Graveside service will follow at Osawatomie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Miami County Sheriff's Cops for Tots in Gary's memory. Gary will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
