Gary E. Kettler, 58, of Williamsburg, Kansas passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Funeral services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary, from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Gary was born on Friday, June 24, 1955 in Paola, Kansas, the son of Delton Kettler and Dorothy (Minden) Kettler. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1973. He lived in Williamsburg since 1989, moving from Ottawa where he lived since 1972. On August 12, 1983 Gary was united in marriage with Sondra Frost in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives of their home after thirty years of marriage. Other survivors include his two daughters, Jaclyn Kettler and fiancé Clifton C. Jones of Houston, Texas, and Sarah Kettler and companion Geoffrey Thomas of Ottawa; mother, Dorothy Kettler and step-father, Gary Briar of Ottawa; and brother, Larry Kettler and companion Joyce Dodson of Osawatomie. He was preceded in death by his father, Delton Kettler. Gary was a lifelong farmer in both livestock and crops. He also owned and operated his own trucking business, Kettler Trucking, for fifteen years hauling feed and grain. He later worked as a carpenter for C.A.S. Construction and Midland Contractors. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and children, meeting with friends, farming, tractors, watching sports, and playing cards with his mom and friends.
