Garry J. Hall, 79, passed away on July 5, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1946, in Ottawa, Kansas. Garry completed high school while enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Submariner during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1966 and remained in the Navy Reserve until 1970.
Garry was married to his first wife, Karadith "Kari" (Brown) Hall, for 27 years until her passing in 1996. He later married his current wife Sherry (Lucas) Hall in Independence, Missouri, on August 28, 2005.
Throughout his career, Garry worked as a Pipefitter for numerous companies, including Eastman Kodak and General Motors. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to owning two businesses Garry’s Lakeville Archery in upstate NY and Warrior Archery Outfitters in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He later returned to Pipefitting with Sprinkler Fitters Local #314 and ended his career with American Sprinkler Fitters. Passionate about archery, Garry enjoyed teaching his skills to others, even to those with a lack of natural talent, like his cousin Rodney Brown. Up until suffering a stroke, he never missed a single hunting season, going so far as to spray paint a cast and crutches camouflage when he broke his leg. Garry would schedule events and plans (even his own wedding!) around hunting season. He also participated in 3-D archery events in the off season. Garry was a fan of cowboy movies (both new and old), Clive Cussler books, and enjoyed watching Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers games. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Garry was preceded in death by his mother Joan Johnson, son Johnny Joe Hall, grandparents John Earl Hall and Iva Hall, Aunt Jean Ward, and first wife Kari. Garry is survived by his loving wife Sherry; sons Johnny (Genesee) Hall and Bryan (Crissy) Hall; grandchildren Dalton Hall, Logan (Shelbi) Hall, Lakin (Autumn) McEuen, Keetan McEuen; great-grandchildren Oliver Fenwick, Ayven Hall, and Henry Hall; sisters Ellen McGrath, Carol Simms, and Donna Jo Martin; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas, followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
