Ernest M. (Spark) Diviney

November 12, 1946 to January 1, 2025

Spark Diviney passed away peacefully at his home in Paola, Kansas on the night of January 1, 2025 surrounded by the voices of his loving family, the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking and the sound of the blues playing. He will be missed for his kindness, his gentleness, his great wisdom and especially his sharp wit. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.

 The patriarch of his much loved blended family, the “old gunslinger” is survived by his wife of 36 years Gerri Diviney, his sons Kirk (Tracy) Diviney and Michael Diviney, his daughter Adrienne (Dennis) Hernandez, his sister Patricia Diviney and grandchildren Ashley (Jeremy Willard) Diviney, Samantha Diviney, Julia (Tyler) Vincent, Lauren (David) Fulk, Nicholas Hernandez, Ian Bilardo, Aidan Bilardo and River Enderle, as well as his great-granddaughter Elena Diviney-Willard. Along with his family, he was loved and will be missed by those to whom he served as a father figure and wise counselor throughout his life.

 Cremation. No service. A Celebration of Life will be held on or around Father’s Day in June 2025, the date, time and location to be announced later.
