Dale R. Brewer

Dale R. Brewer stepped away from the loving presence of family and friends into the presence of His Savior on August 16, 2026, at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Dale was a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved son, and steadfast friend to many, and he never let his battle with cancer steal his hope, defeat his spirit, or keep him from caring for others. His generosity and faith forged a legacy worth following.

Dale took his first breath on August 8, 1976, in Paola, Kansas. Thus began a life rooted in faith, hard work, and unwavering service. Dale attended local schools and graduated from Paola High School in 1994. He continued his education at the Miami County Campus of Fort Scott Community College, always valuing what he learned through both formal education and life experiences.

On July 17, 1998, Dale married his sweetheart, Megan. Their love story began at a little church in Olathe, Kansas, and deepened as they lived in Paola, moved to Osawatomie in 2000, and eventually settled on a farm in Lyndon in 2005. Dale’s love expanded with the arrival of three children: Elijah, Noah, and Hannah, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His family remained the center of his world, a testament to his deep commitment and priorities.

Dale’s Kansas roots shaped his character and life’s work. On September 5, 1995, Dale clocked in for his first day at Wal-Mart DC 6035 in Ottawa. For more than three decades, he was a faithful employee with an admirable work ethic, whether he was driving forklifts, changing their batteries, or working as a maintenance tech. He rarely missed a day, even during chemotherapy. Coworkers considered him one of the hardest-working and most caring people they knew.

Dale’s life was well-rounded, and his ventures outside his professional life included owning and operating DRB Specialty Fabrication. He shared this entrepreneurial journey with his father, David, and the business showcased Dale’s skill, ingenuity, and passion for working with his hands.

Dale’s passion for the land and animals was evident to anyone who visited the farm. Tending the animals brought him peace – even the ornery goats he favored. But Dale’s joy extended beyond the daily chores, fields, and chicken coops to his welding, practical jokes, and a delightful orneriness meant to bring smiles to friends and family.

Above all, Dale was dedicated to serving His Heavenly Father, and his testimony was strong and clear. As a member of the Osawatomie Church of God (Holiness) and an active participant in the Kansas State Holiness Association, Kansas State Holiness Youth Camp, and local ministries such as Bethlehem and Walking with Jesus, Dale was always eager to point young people to Christ. He dedicated many of his work vacations to youth and family camps. His commitment to mentoring young people did not falter even during the pandemic. Together, Dale and Megan organized and led a small youth camp on their farm so they could continue guiding teens in their faith.

Dale’s legacy lives on in his loving wife, Megan; his children Elijah (Mercedes), Noah (Destini), and Hannah; his grandchildren Persephone (Annie) and Nazzariah; his father David and mother Marilyn; and his brother Matthew (Cheryl), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends. Dale is preceded in death by an angel baby grandchild, with whom he is now reunited.

Dale’s loved ones fondly remember his contagious laughter, his unselfish generosity, and his ability to lift the spirits of everyone he met. He will be profoundly missed and eternally cherished. His legacy of faith, integrity, and humor will continue to inspire all who knew him. Those who wish to honor Dale by wearing his favorite color purple on Saturday are encouraged to do so.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Miami County Fair Grounds, 401 Wallace Park Drive, Paola, KS 66071. Celebration of life will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will take place following the service at the Mannen Cemetery. The family would like to extend an invitation to a meal following the burial, also at the fairgrounds.
