Colleen M. Lindeman

Colleen M. Lindeman passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe, Kansas. Born on December 16, 1955, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Velmore and Lorraine (Burns) Hendrickson, Colleen lived a life full of creativity, love, and devotion to her family and passions.

Colleen was the beloved wife of Michael Lindeman, with whom she shared a deeply cherished bond since their marriage in 1995. Their commitment to one another was evident to all who knew them, and their partnership was a source of strength and support throughout their years together.

Family was at the heart of Colleen’s world. She leaves behind her loving husband Michael, as well as her daughter Heather Long (Brian) and her treasured grandchildren: Saige McClay, Rayli McClay, Ryne Long, and Rece Long. She took great joy in being part of their lives, celebrating their achievements, and imparting her wisdom, kindness, and creativity. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents whose guidance and love shaped the compassionate person she became as well as her brother, PFC Gary Hendrickson. She is also survived by her brother, Velmore Hendrickson, sister Lora Bean (Mike), and twin sister Caroline Hendrickson (Brenn Wagner).

Colleen’s artistic spirit shone brightly in all she did. She was passionate about crafts—especially making jewelry, beading, and sewing. Her creativity found its way into the community each year at the Maple Leaf Festival, where she ran a booth with her daughter, proudly displaying and selling her enchanting tie-dyed crafts. Through her artistry, Colleen brought joy, color, and inspiration to countless festival-goers and friends.

Prior to her decline in health, Colleen enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly fishing and attending auto races with family and friends.

Those who knew Colleen will remember her for her warmth, gentle nature, and unwavering support for her loved ones. Her legacy lives on in the beautiful crafts she created, the memories she lovingly built with her family, and the smiles she shared with friends old and new.

Colleen’s life will be honored and remembered by all who were privileged to know her.

Visitation will be held at 10am, Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Ottawa University Fredrikson Chapel located at 1011 South Cedar Street, Ottawa, Kansas. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11am at the same location.
