Clyde Wayne Potter, born on July 2, 1945, in Garnett, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Clyde lived a life full of creativity and resilience, marked by his dedication to both his country and his family.

A proud veteran, Clyde served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He first served in infantry before taking on the role of a flamethrower operator during his second tour. His brave service was recognized with two Purple Hearts, a testament to his courage and commitment to his nation.

Clyde graduated from Garnett High School in 1963, and he later pursued further education at Johnson County Community College, completing many certifications that demonstrated his commitment to lifelong learning. Clyde enjoyed a successful career working for Bendix/King Radio for over 20 years before he retired. In a fulfilling chapter later in life, he and his wife Cindy operated a thriving upholstery business together, a venture that allowed him to express his artistic talents.

An accomplished artist and musician, Clyde had a remarkable ability to touch the hearts of those around him. His talents extended beyond mere hobbies; he dedicated his time to wood burning and was actively involved in multiple bands, sharing his love of country music with countless friends. Clyde took joy in teaching others to play guitar, passing on his passion for music to the next generation.

Clyde is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Potter; his children Heather Berry, Christopher Salfiti, Chad Potter, and Lisa Potter; his sister Jonie Grundler; and his nine grandchildren who were a source of pride and joy in his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Anna Potter, as well as his beloved daughter, Courtney Salfiti. Clyde Wayne Potter leaves behind not only cherished memories but also a lasting impact on his family and community through his artistry, service, and love for music. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
