Cheryl Lynn (DeWald) Poole was born April 10, 1945 in Ottawa, Kansas. The sixth child born to Kenneth E. and Delores DeWald.

She grew up in Ottawa, graduating with the Ottawa High School class of 1963.

Her first job after graduation was as an office worker for Best Truck Lines. She later moved to Kansas City with a friend, there she went to work for Burch Co., a company that sold upholstery supplies wholesale. While working for Burch Co., she met Richard Poole from Oklahoma. Cheryl later moved to Oklahoma and she and Richard were married in December of 1975.

Cheryl bought Brazwells Upholstery and became owner and main employee.

Richard became ill and passed away in 1995.

Cheryl moved back to Kansas in 2002 to be closer to family. She went to work part-time as a secretary for the Trinity Methodist Church.

Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Beverly Joyce; sister Marlene Evertson; brothers Bill DeWald and Kenneth D. “Pete” DeWald; and nephews Michael Milton, Tim Evertson, and Billy DeWald.

Survivors include her sisters Natalee June Howard of Colorado and Barbara Milton of Ottawa, Kansas along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 10am, Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 South Hickory Street, Ottawa, Kansas. Interment will follow at Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Ottawa.
