Listen to Obituary

Carol M. Evans, age 73, peacefully passed away on June 18, 2026, at Willow Tree Skilled Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. Born on December 16, 1952, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Carol was the cherished daughter of Ray and Delores (Moody) Evans. In June 1969, she married Joseph “Joe” Evans in Ottawa, Kansas. Together, they made their homes in Hutchinson, Kansas for 12 years, followed by 25 years in Rantoul, Kansas.

Carol pursued her passion for nursing after earning an Associate’s Degree and dedicated 35 years of service at Wesley Towers Retirement community, retiring in 2019. She was known for her compassion and commitment to her work.

Beyond her professional life, Carol enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her joy and creativity. She loved cooking and baking, tending to her flower gardens, and spending time by her koi pond. Carol had a deep appreciation for sewing, quilting, oil painting, and various crafts—each given special space in her home with rooms designated for quilting and painting. Inspired by Bob Ross, she often watched his television programs to learn new painting techniques. Above all, Carol treasured the time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Ray Evans, and her sister, Jackie Schulte. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Joe; daughter Carissa Fine; sons Eric and Mike Evans; her mother, Delores Andrews (Moody); siblings Deanna Barton, Bonita Evans, Mike Evans, Clarence Evans, Michele Honeycut, and Richard Andrews; and her six grandchildren.

Carol’s life was a testament to kindness, creativity, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
