It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of Brittany Paige Thomason, who left us on April 1, 2026, in Paola, Kansas. Born on February 20, 1993, Brittany lived a life marked by kindness, perseverance, and a profound love for animals.
Brittany was the cherished daughter of Doug Baker and Deidre Thomason. Throughout her life, she was supported and loved by her mother and father, her step-father EJ Coleman, her brothers Christian Owens, Connor Owens, and Jenda Crouse, as well as her devoted boyfriend George Dempsey. She was also loved and remembered by her grandparents, Charles and Linda Baker, and her uncle Joe Baker.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Bobby Thomason, grandmother Brenda Farmer, and step-grandmother Christyn Coleman.
In the fall of 2025, Brittany’s journey led her to Paola, Kansas, where she was welcomed into the home of her good friend Kevin. It was there, in this community, that her life came to a tragic end. Her spirit, however, remains bright in the memory of those who loved her and were touched by her gentle nature.
A profoundly compassionate soul, Brittany had a special place in her heart for animals. She rescued four cats and lovingly cared for her faithful dog, Maddie, who survives her and stands as a living testament to Brittany’s nurturing spirit. Her dedication to animals was a defining aspect of her character and inspired all who knew her.
Brittany’s interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She found joy and fulfillment in walking, embracing the simple beauty of the outdoors, and expressing her creativity through crafts made from recycled plastic and resin. These hobbies revealed her commitment to both art and the environment, showcasing her thoughtful and unique approach to life.
One of Brittany’s proudest accomplishments was her ability to work two jobs simultaneously, a testament to her strength, determination, and unwavering work ethic. This achievement demonstrated her resilience and dedication to providing for herself and those she cared about.
Brittany’s life, though too brief, was filled with love, dedication, and kindness. She leaves behind a circle of family and friends who will forever treasure her memory. May her story inspire us all to live with compassion and courage, honoring the warmth and light she brought into the world.
Cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
