It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sharon Fogle of Grand Island, Nebraska, announce her passing on September 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Sharon was a loving wife to Karl Fogle for 61 years, a devoted mother to Karnelle Stojakovic (Milan) and Tim Fogle (Kim), and a proud grandmother to Hunter (Megan), Carter (Bailey Mettengrink), and Macy Fogle, Elena and Milan Nicholas Stojakovic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Beulah McDowell.
Sharon was born in Rantoul Kansas, and grew up in Ottawa Kansas, where she graduated high school in 1962. She went on to graduate from Topeka School of Cosmetology in 1963. On December 15, 1963, she married Karl Fogle, and together, they built a life full of love and memories.
Sharon spent much of her life in Russell, Kansas, where she and Karl ran the local Dairy Queen. She devoted herself to creating a warm and welcoming home for her family, filling it with love, laughter, and hospitality. Her passions were many - camping, fishing, skiing (both water and snow), attending classic car shows, crafting, shopping and playing the piano, but her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren.
A faithful Christian throughout her life, Sharon served her church by teaching vacation bible and Sunday school, volunteering, playing piano, cooking meals, and offering prayers of comfort to those in need. She believed deeply in the power of kindness and service, always ready to help others and bring joy to their lives.
After her children left home, Sharon and Karl moved to Howard, Colorado, where they enjoyed retirement in the beauty of the mountains, welcoming family and friends into their peaceful haven.
In 2016 Sharon and Karl moved to Grand Island, Nebraska to be closer to family.
Sharon’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity, and love for her family will never be forgotten.
