Arleva Fay Wasson, 84, passed away on April 24, 2025, in Ottawa, Kansas. Born on January 13, 1941, in Englewood, Colorado, the daughter of Frank and Vera (Spilman) Wormuth, she lived a life filled with dedication to her family, work, and the land she cherished.
On May 2, 1958, she married Warren Wasson, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that would last a lifetime. Together, they raised two sons, Doyle Gene Wasson and Timothy Allen Wasson.
Throughout her life, Arleva's work was marked by her strong will and determination. She dedicated many years to cleaning and mowing for her dear friend, Ruth Morehead, but her commitment extended far beyond that. Together with her husband Warren, she spent countless hours milking cows and caring for a variety of farm animals. Her love for animals was evident; she had a particular fondness for her extensive crew of chickens, sheep, goats, calves, and notably, her beloved peacocks.
Arleva also took great pleasure in her collection of buggies, with a special admiration for her doctor buggy, complemented by the horses she kept to pull them. She was hardly ever found sitting still, spending her days outdoors, embodying a spirit of hard work and dedication that inspired those around her.
Survivors include her husband Warren; son Timothy Allen Wasson (Jannell); daughter-in-law Kimberly Wasson; four grandchildren Jerrod Wasson (Jessica), Erica Wasson, Brent Wasson, and Retta Larch; one great grandchild River; and half-brother Jimmy Wormuth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Doyle Wasson; sister Dora Wormuth; brother James Wormuth; and half-brother Wayne Nevonen.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, for her warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
