AJ Hildreth, 32, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on November 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 26, 1993, in Merriam, Kansas, the middle child of Mark and Nancy Hildreth.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Zach Hildreth; sister, Liz Alley and her husband, Jarrett; paternal grandparents, Marv and Sara Hildreth; extended family members and close friends.
AJ is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pat and Dorla Swartz.
He graduated from Louisburg High School in 2012, and spent the last seven years working for Magnum Equipment in Louisburg with some of his favorite people. His easy-going nature and cheerful demeanor were loved and appreciated by all.
As one of AJ’s friends said, “I’m not sure I’ve ever met a human who loves sports as much as AJ does, besides maybe Zach.” AJ spent hours placing bets with his brother, dad, and friends, standing on the sidelines with his camera, and cheering on many sports teams including the K-State Wildcats, Chiefs, Royals, and Chelsea FC. He enjoyed keeping up with the newest movie releases and video games, snapchatting “Panda Thursday,” partaking in “Donut Friday” at the office, and checking off a new rollercoaster park when he had a chance. In the summertime, you could find him at his family cabin on Lake Washburn catching countless fish with his brother and cousins.
His positivity and optimism will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. While he underwent treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, his doctors and friends frequently complimented him on his upbeat personality and contagious energy. He was authentic and unapologetically himself, kind, and had the friendliest smile.
AJ and his family were very grateful for the attentive care provided to him by the staff of The University of Kansas Cancer Center and AdventHealth Cancer Institute, as well as Ascend Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday, December 1, 2025, at Dengel & Son Mortuary – Louisburg Chapel, 1 Aquatic Drive, Louisburg, Kansas 66053. In honor of AJ, wear your favorite sports team apparel!
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made payable to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
