Woodrow was a lifelong Franklin County resident, except for his military years and about three years living elsewhere in Kansas. He graduated from Sand Creek Elementary School in Franklin County in 1927. Woodrow worked for the Railway Mail Service and later thirty-four years as a rural mail carrier for the Postal Service, retiring on June 30, 1973. He served in the Army National Guard from 1934 to 1945, during World War II. Woodrow was a member of Richter United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. On December 28, 1940, Woodrow was united in marriage with Leona Evelyn Rice at Lawrence, Kansas. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2002. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Terry Sue Wiliford. IN STATE: Mr. Crawford will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Wednesday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas, with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 of Ottawa.
