Vincent Lee Bulgarelli, 85, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at AdventHealth Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 31, 2020, at Garden of Memories, Pittsburg, Kansas with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Vincent was born February 2, 1934, in Radley (Pittsburg), Kansas, the son of Vincent and Olga P. (Wattelet) Bulgarelli. He was raised in Pittsburg moving in 1959 to Ottawa. He graduated from Wentworth Military Academy, Lexington, Missouri with the class of 1952. Vincent was stationed in Germany with the United States Army from October 1956 to October 1958. He was PFC serving as a marksman earning a Good Conduct Metal. Vincent was united in marriage to Shirley Mason October 17, 1960 in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his two children, Vince Bulgarelli and wife Heather of Melvern and Kimberly Towns and husband Donald of Baldwin City; grandson, Zachary Towns and wife Hannah of Lawrence; great granddaughter, River Towns; and cousin, Cheryl Robinson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Olga Bulgarelli. Vincent held various positions throughout his lifetime retiring with AT&T after 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and always looked forward to pheasant hunting in western Kansas each year. Vincent also enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle when he was younger. He was an avid NASCAR fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching old westerns on television. Vincent was very proud of his grandson Zachary’s accomplishments and always looked forward to spending time with his family especially with the recent addition of his great granddaughter River. Another one of Vincent’s favorite past times was spending time with his friends over coffee.
