Ruby Irene Scrivner was born July 1, 1921, at Murry, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Frank David and Shirley Marie (Smithers) Sanderson. From 1950 to 1967, Ruby was a resident of Kansas City, Missouri. She moved to Brumley, Missouri, in 1967, and Garnett, Kansas, in 1989. For the past six months, Ruby has been a resident of Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas, until her death Monday, January 26, 2004, at the age of eighty-two years. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post Auxiliary #2490, of Ladysmith, Wisconsin; #6397, of Garnett, Kansas; and, the Olathe Auxiliary. Ruby was a loving mother and wife, whose greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed all her homemaking skills, especially, cooking. Her family, as well, enjoyed her delicious meals. She loved gardening and caring for her flowers and vegetables. Ruby liked to go dancing and out to eat. In her spare time, she liked to watch her favorite T.V. show, 'I Love Lucy', and, also, cooking shows. On October 31, 1938, Ruby was united in marriage with Dennis B. Scrivner at Ladysmith, Wisconsin. They enjoyed over sixty-five years of marriage. He survives of their home. She is also survived by four sons, Daniel L. Scrivner and his wife, Jennie, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Dennis L. Scrivner and his wife, Karen, of Leavenworth, Kansas, David L. Scrivner and his wife, Phyllis, of Kansas City, Missouri, Gregory A. Scrivner and his wife, Denise, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; three daughters, Pamela K. Williams of Osage Beach, Missouri, Margaret Renee McDowell and her husband, Tommie, of Brumley, Missouri, Kimberly S. Marriott of Ottawa, Kansas; brother, Bernard Sanderson and his wife, Evelyn, of Burbank, California; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Scrivner is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Evaline Hasson, Beatrice Holman, Lucille Swoverland; brother, Orval Sanderson; and, grandson, Keith Scrivner. Arrangements are being handled by Dengel & Son Mortuary,Ottawa, Kansas. Memorial Service: Hedges Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 29, 2004 , Rev. Ralph Byrd officiating. Interment will be at Lake Memorial Gardens in Osage Beach, Mo.
