Patricia Ann “Patty” Schroeder, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away at Olathe Hospice House surrounded by family, on Friday, July 12th, 2024.
Services will be held on Friday, July 19th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Paola. A visitation will be held there from 9:00am to 10:00am, with a rosary to follow at 10:00am, and the funeral to begin at 10:30am.
Patty was born on September 27th, 1941, in Paola, Kansas, to Leonard P. Peuser and Marian J. (Maher) Peuser. She was a lifelong resident of Paola, Kansas. She attended Ursuline Academy her freshman and sophomore year and then finished at Paola High School where she graduated in 1959. During these years, she made many lifelong friends and continued to spend time with them throughout the years.
On June 13th, 1964 she was united in marriage to Morris Schroeder at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Paola. They became parents of one son, Christopher M. Schroeder.
During high school she was employed at her father’s family business, Peuser Chevrolet, as a bookkeeper, and also worked for Messer’s Drug Store as a “soda jerk.” After she was married, she enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker and assisting her husband Morris throughout the years with his businesses. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some of her hobbies included shopping with her grandchildren, crafting, decorating, and listening to music. She also enjoyed taking road trips in the fall time to Pella, Iowa with her friends and spending time in Branson with family during the winter to enjoy Christmas lights.
Patty was loved by all of those who knew her and was known a woman of class and kindness who always welcomed family and friends into her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Vicki Armstrong, and husband Morris Schroeder. Survivors include her son, Christopher Schroeder, granddaughters Megan Porter (Austin) and Elizabeth Schroeder, and three great-grandchildren, Ellie, Beau, and Colt.
