Mildred Alice Brown, age 93, of Princeton, Kansas, went to heaven Saturday, August 25, 2012, at her home. She was born Saturday, March 15, 1919, in Princeton, Kansas, the daughter of David L. and Ada Mary (Kennedy) Mathias. Mildred was a lifelong Franklin County resident. Mildred was a homemaker and a wonderful mom and loving wife. Mildred was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church, and Fiddlers & Pickers, an old time Fiddlers & Pickers Association. On July 4, 1936 Mildred was united in marriage with Henry W. Brown at Garnett, Kansas. He preceded her to heaven on July 21, 2005. They shared 69 years of wedded bliss. She is survived by her: Daughter –Edith Montgomery of Richmond, Kansas Daughter – Dorothy Sobba of Richmond, Kansas Daughter – Ruby Murrow and husband Elton of Ottawa, Kansas Son – Eldon Brown and wife Beverly of Beagle, Kansas Daughter – Carolyn Brown of Princeton, Kansas Grandchildren – 14 Great-Grandchildren – 37 Great-great-grandchildren – 11 Many nieces and nephews Sister – Ruth Rathjen of Ottawa, Kansas Sister – Nellie Carey of Topeka, Kansas And many friends She is preceded in death by her: Husband – Henry W. Brown Brother – John Mathias Brother – Alfred Mathias Sister – Edith Deaton SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 31, 2012. IN STATE: Friends may pay respects to Mrs. Brown at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 A.M. Thursday, August 30, 2012 to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday. CEMETERY: Interment Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Ruhamah Baptist Church Youth Group, Franklin County Cancer Foundation or Midland Hospice c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
