Madine Frizzell, 87, of Shawnee, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. Family will meet with friends at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary followed by a 2:00 P.M., funeral service. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Madine was born July 28, 1931, in Conway, Arkansas, the daughter of Elva Murphy. She was united in marriage to Robert T. “Bob” Frizzell August 29, 1948, in Conway. Madine grew up in Conway and after her marriage to Bob lived in various locations during his military career. For 10 years, Madine lived in Olathe; 38 years in Rantoul; and for the last 5 years in Shawnee. Survivors include children, Angel Obersteadt and husband Eric of Shawnee, and Thomas Frizzell of Paola; four grandchildren, Eli Neufeld, Chelsea Vanderhorst and husband Peter, Mallory Aguilar and husband Juan, and Nate Neufeld; and great grandson, Amos Vanderhorst. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Frizzell and mother, Elva Murphy. Madine was a devoted lifelong homemaker and sold Avon for many years. She was a member of the Rantoul Presbyterian Church and an active and previous president in the Veterans of Foreign Wars 5901 women’s auxiliary. Madine enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking and canning, dancing, playing Bingo and visiting with her friends and family.
