Lois Edith Doty was born October 15, 1932, at Quenemo, Kansas. She was the daughter of Roy Raymond and Jeanette Rose (Colston) Mollett. She lived in Herington, Kansas for a period of time and was a near lifelong resident of Quenemo, Kansas, where she made her home until her death Saturday, August 9, 2003, at the age of seventy years. She attended schools in Herington and Quenemo. Lois was a homemaker. In the early 1960's, she was employed by Parmalee Plastics and Bruce's Manufacturing, both of Ottawa. Lois was baptized and a member of the former Quenemo Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She also liked to crochet and created many beautiful items for her family to enjoy and treasure. Lois was a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. She had a deep Christian faith and was very dedicated to reading her Bible daily. On October 14, 1950, Lois was united in marriage with Jay Lyle Doty at Quenemo at her parent's residence. He survives of their home. She is also survived by four daughters, Lois StandingCloud and her husband, Leroy, of Osage City, Brenda Hernandez and her husband, Eugene, of Ottawa, Katherine Watkins and her husband, Raymond, of Ottawa, Karla Trammell and her husband, Scott, of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sons, Lyle R. Doty of Quenemo, David Doty and his wife, Dorothy, of Williamsburg, Kevin Doty and his wife, Teresa, of Quenemo, Eric Doty and his wife, Shauna, of Quenemo; two brothers, Victor Raymond 'Ray' Mollett of Wisconsin, Donald Bruce Mollett of Ottawa; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; and, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David Mollett and Michael Mollett. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Clyde Greisen IN STATE: Mrs. Doty will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00pm Monday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends 7-8 Tuesday evening.
