Leota Ann Golubski, age 78, of Paola, Kansas passed away peacefully July 30, 2018 at North Point Skilled Nursing. Ann, as she was known, was born May 28, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Norma and Mel Keeton. She moved to the Kansas City area during her elementary school years and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1959. She worked at the Lider Department Store as a switchboard operator. She married Edward Golubski on August 13, 1960 and they made their home in Kansas City, Kansas. They became parents of two sons, Scott and Rick. They moved to Paola in 1972. She sold Avon while the boys were young. She worked at Holy Trinity School for eight years as a cook, cafeteria worker, and bookkeeper, and secretary for the parish. She later worked at Price Chopper as a cashier and at the Louisburg Cider Mill. Family and friends were extremely important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various activities. Other interests included collecting antique glassware, ceramics, flower gardening, and playing cards. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. In their younger years, Ed and Ann loved to dance and were well known for dancing the polka. Ann suffered a stroke following a surgery in 2003, which left her paralyzed on her left side. She worked hard in therapy and was able to return home. She taught Ed to cook and take care of her flowers. Ann loved spending time outdoors. She preceded in death by her parents and her step-dad, Merle Milam. Her survivors include her husband Ed, of the home; sons, Scott (Nancy) Golubski of rural Paola, and Rick (Lisa) Golubski of Newton, Kansas; one granddaughter Melanie; and five grandsons, Brett, Kurt, Joel, Trev, and Reid.
