Judie Sharlene Baker, age 73, passed away October 23, 2017. Judie was born June 11, 1944, in Paola, Kansas, to Paul and Beulah (Miller) Baker. She graduated from Smithville High School (MO) in 1963. Judie worked for 50 years in fabrication of screen and millwork manufacturing, Kansas City, MO, before retiring in 2013 and moving to Colorado. Judie died at Life Care Center in Longmont, Colorado, October 23, 2017. Judie loved her Lord Jesus Christ. This was the foundation of her life. As a young girl, she learned about God and Jesus at home, church, and through Bible study. Judie was creative. She loved to sew, quilt and crochet. Judie loved the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. She loved animals. Judie is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Barb and Steve Slater of Rochester, MN, and Faith and Jerry Percell of Erie, CO; four nephews and their wives, five great-nieces, five great-nephews, two aunts, Romalea Miller and Mary Helen Brummel and one uncle, Nick Brummel; many cousins and friends. Judie has been remembered by many as always joyful and friendly no matter the difficulties she faced through life. The phrase “Faith, Family, and Friends” best described Judie. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 with memorial service following at 10:30 a.m. at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 120 South Broadway, Louisburg, KS, the family request no flowers, please.
